biography

Fusing original material into their DJ sets, the Stafford Brothers are developing a massive following throughout Australia. Brothers Matt and Chris, keep the dance floor rocking with a range of styles of music, predominately a house sound. Every set is full of energy with hands in the air always a rule. The boys have definitely perfected the art of having a good time and making the crowd do the same.

Being ranked as #2 DJ’s in Queensland for the inthemix 50, the brothers are definitely gathering a lot of support around Australia and internationally.

Having just returned from a 2-month journey through Europe the brothers have been rocking clubs all over the world.

Playing dates in Dubai, Manchester, Ibiza, Malaga, and London all to huge responses the boys are now back to play in Australia for the next few months.

Every Stafford Brothers set includes their own productions, which is what the boys are focused on right now. Having previously released a track in Europe the Stafford Brothers are getting releases here at home. Beginning the summer of 2005/06 by mixing the Wild Summer 06 CD they included 2 original tracks on the mix that have performed well as singles.

The first single “I can see” features the vocals of Sydney’s Miss Gabby, having made it to the top 40 of the club chart it was a good debut for the brothers. The track was also released as an EP on vinyl. The Stafford Brother EP featured 3 original tracks I can see (including a dope and dusted mix), Umba and Palace city.

The single “More than a feeling” is tearing dance floors up all over the country, with Ministry of Sound radio picking it up on the play list and selected DJ’s on Nova also playing the tune constantly. Adding to that a video clip that was filmed at Summafieldayze featuring all the usual madness from the boy’s including a stage dive from Chris and you can see why the track was in the club charts the dance charts and even crossed over to the HMV commercial charts.

The Stafford Brothers have not only been producing tracks for the dance floor throughout the year but have also organized productions for several fashion events (David Jones, 5am clothing), as well as the music production credits for Channel 7s Wild TV.

Because production is a focus right now The Stafford Brothers also spent time in Europe producing new tracks. 2 were made in Ibiza and a third was done in the studios of Jason Herd (J.funk recordings Manchester), expect these to be released later in the year.

Production is a focus for the boys but DJing and performing is their first love and they still perform every weekend. Holding residencies in their home areas of the Gold Coast, Brisbane, and Byron Bay, plus monthly residencies in Sydney and Melbourne, add to this guest slots in other states regularly and performing at festivals around the country and it’s safe to say the boys are in constant demand.
