biography

Think you know P-Money? The lightening-fast turntablist who cut a path to the DMC World DJ Championships? The internationally renowned producer who built his name with world-class studio talents? The impeccable A&R scout who launched the crusading career of Scribe and introduced names like David Dallas, PNC and Vince Harder? Think again.

On album number three, P-Money has again raised the stakes, extending his team of collaborators, consolidating his production skills, and sidestepping genre boxes to deliver a little bit of Everything.

"Music has changed and I've matured too. I gained the confidence to step out of the box and try different things - I feel like I've got nothing to lose now. This album is funk, soul, disco, rap, rock, r&b... it's everything."

Like one of his famed DJ sets seamlessly joining the dots between different sounds, Everything is unafraid to make links between music designed to motivate the dance floor, whether it's the swaggering rock of 'Falling Down', the sly boogie funk of 'Dance With You' or the sinister stadium rave of 'Angels'.

"I'm placing a bet on the fact that I can make records in any style or genre and that others will like them. It's that same confidence you've gotta have to go out and DJ and break a new record to a crowd. I'm backing myself on this record - I've taken some chances and tried some new things, and now it's like 'let's see how they like it!'"

Just as Everything sees P-Money move his music into unchartered territory, the album's stellar line up of guest artists step up to his new tempos with ease, whether it's David Dallas and Aaradhna riding the jumped-up club rhythms of 'Say Yeah', or Scribe tearing up the remix to 'Everything', the chart-topping single that introduced the golden voice of newcomer Vince Harder and set the scene for the genre-hopping of this album.

"That piece of music was the most unique of all the tracks I was working on at the time, so I thought 'why not take a leap of faith and put that one out?' People smile when they hear that song - they dance, they sing, they enjoy it. That's how I know it's a winner."

That leap of faith paid dividends - Everything presents a winner's podium of P-Money's bold new directions, 13 fresh cuts that map the coordinates of his moves into house, hip hop, big beat, rave and beyond.

What connects these songs to P-Money's acclaimed back catalogue is his relentless pursuit of what makes a great record, challenging himself, his collaborators and his fans. Music has changed and P-Money has embraced these changes, crafting an album that is set to defy expectations.

"I had so much fun making this record. That's number one for me, above and beyond technique or production and intellectualism. I care about these sounds - I care about these songs. I put everything into it and it means everything to me. And there's a bit of everything for everybody."
