Big Day Out 2008 - Final Acts Announced

The list of Big Day Out acts just keeps on getting longer! Here we're serving up a final delicious concoction of local artists for your aural pleasure.

Brothablack is one of this country's pioneers of Indigenous hip-hop. As well as being a founding member of the Indigenous hip-hop crew, South West Syndicate (a group who in 2003 won the Deadly Award for most promising new talent in Aboriginal music) BROTHABLACK has taken his talents to the theatre stage as well as working in remote Aboriginal communities teaching hip hop culture and helping young people develop their musical skills.

Tucker, Tokyo's favorite turntable spinning, guitar and bass looping, oil can thumping, toy tweaking, cassette tape scratching, pyromaniac Electone organ player, is also on the bill. Emerging in 1998 with the hot single "The Man From Electone", Tucker followed up with albums Tucker is Coming and Electoon Wizard.

Melbourne's purveyors of fast, furious, catchy, grandiose heavy-rock, Behind Crimson Eyes had a sneaky-but-successful start with the release of their EPs Pavour Nocturnus and Prologue.

We heard you ask for an emotional, indie guitar pop layer cake, with big melodies, loads of shouting and a lot of love to give…and we're giving it to you! We welcome Dappled Cities. As Sydney school pals turned NYC indie rockers, they will shake your afternoon along with their melodic, quirky, sonic tragicomedies.
